RALEIGH — At 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the polls will open in Wake County and will remain open until 7:30 p.m. Until then, everyone involved in campaigns are pushing to get people to the polls. It's just one final push to get people excited as workers pack up and head out into neighborhoods.
Many volunteers marched through Triangle neighborhoods Sunday passing out information and talking to people who would listen, but voter John Barkley says he thinks all that does is remind people it's time to vote.
It didn't really look busy at various party headquarters buildings Sunday, but that, workers say, is a good thing. It means everyone is out drumming up support.
There is another place that hasn't been showing signs of the height of the voting season. That's the stateBoard of Elections, but it is coming to life Monday, and will be one of the busiest places in the state by Tuesday as polling places and party headquarters get set up and decorated.
Again, polls will be open statewide from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST. In Wake County, school openings will be delayed two hours to allow students time to vote with their parents as part of theKidsVotingproject.
