Tibetan Monks Create Rare Art in Triangle

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — It's a rare treat to watch as art iscreated. It's even more rare when Tibetan monks bring their tools andcolors to your doorstep to create art before your very eyes.

Until recently, these monks were not allowed to leave Tibet, but thisweek they are at the North Carolina Museum of Art producing a sand mandala. The museum's Joseph Covington says it is a tedious task with beautiful results.
