Heineman-Price Rematch Heating Up

RALEIGH — Democrat David Price is trying to get his old job back, as Congressman from North Carolina's Fourth District. His opponent Fred Heineman, who beat Price out of the job last time around, is now crying "foul" in response to an ad commonly referred to as "Earth to Fred".
The commercial accuses Heineman of believing that anyone who earns $300,000 to $750,000 is middle-class.
Heineman argues that the ad and its message are just plain wrong.
Such television ads became the only forum for this campaign after two operations for an intestinal problem sidelined Heineman for more than a month. A healthier Heineman re-emerged Friday to say he doesn't expect his medical setback to cost him votes.
But Price accuses Heineman of dodging him and the issues even before Heineman got sick.
Heineman is a featured guest on WRAL TV5's 30 Minutes program Sunday night at 6:30.
