Two-Car Shootout in Downtown Durham

DURHAM — Police are looking for suspects inwhat they believe was a drive-by shooting Thursday night in downtownDurham.

The shooting took place at the corner of South Roxoboro and DillardStreets just before 6 p.m.

Police on the scene said theshots appeared to be coming from automatic weapons.

At least two unidentified people were shot and were being treatedfor their wounds.

In southern Cumberland County, a 24-year-old man is hospitalized afteranother late-night shootout. Police say Todd Ackerman was shot after afight broke out near a residence. The gunman also fired several roundsinto the home before fleeing.

Sheriff's deputies are looking for four suspects.
