Two-Car Shootout in Downtown Durham

— Police are looking for suspects in what they believe was a drive-by shooting Thursday night in downtown Durham.

The shooting took place at the corner of South Roxoboro and Dillard Streets just before 6 p.m.

Police on the scene said the shots appeared to be coming from automatic weapons.

At least two unidentified people were shot and were being treated for their wounds.

In southern Cumberland County, a 24-year-old man is hospitalized after another late-night shootout. Police say Todd Ackerman was shot after a fight broke out near a residence. The gunman also fired several rounds into the home before fleeing.

Sheriff's deputies are looking for four suspects.
