FORT BRAGG — Three Fort Bragg officers are beingformally reprimanded after initiation ceremonies took on a fraternityhazing atmosphere.

In a tradition dating back to the 1940's, officers serving in theirfirst airborne unit go through what's called a "prop blast" ceremony.

An Army investigation revealed some soldiers received electric shocksand were humiliated in last year's event held by the 35th Signal Brigade.

The 18th Airborne Corps has suspended all "prop blast" ceremonies, except those held by the 82nd Airborne which already has strict policiesin place.
