Raleigh Mayor Chasing the Puck

RALEIGH — A national sports team may soon be skating in the Raleigh-Durham area.
Mayor Tom Fetzer announced plans Thursday to attract a National Hockey League team, though the area will compete with Atlanta, Oklahoma City and Nashville, among others, for the franchise.
The NHL is expected to make a decision by mid-December, and Raleigh's mission is to find a buyer by that time.
