FORT BRAGG — Military officials said Monday that they found the missing engine that fell from a plane on Sept. 5.
The Air Mobility Command's Safety Investigation Board found the missing Hercules engine at 1:30 p.m. Sunday approximately 6 miles northwest of the Laurinburg Airport.
The engine had been missing since the plane, a 1968 model C-130, had to make an emergency landing at Fayetteville Regional Airport.
The plane was flying a routine training mission at approximately 1,000 feet and had 10 crewmembers on board. No one on the flight was injured.
A safety investigation board is investigating the incident.
