Knightdale Prepares For Business Boom With Smart Growth Plans

Posted Updated

KNIGHTDALE — Construction of the Highway 64 Bypass means business will be booming in and around Knightdale.

Wake County leaders heard a plan Wednesday for smart land use around the interchanges of the bypass. The plan details land use and transportation techniques.

The county will need a solid plan, because it says the bypass is generating a lot of excitement from the business world.

"We're already seeing a number of developers now coming to town seeking land, seeking information about developing land. So you can start to see some things very soon," says Vivian Coleman, Knightdale's planning director.

The Highway 64 Bypass will run from a new interchange on the Raleigh beltline around Knightdale and connect with Highway 64 Business. The completion date is set for 2005.
