11th Person Arrested In Raleigh Teen's Shooting Death

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 11th person has been charged with murder in a Raleigh shooting that left one teenager dead.

Raleigh police said 20-year-old Tarus Camelia Jones was arrested Wednesday and charged in the June 3 shooting death of 19-year-old Jamel Amien Jefferys. Jones is now being held in the Wake County Jail.

Ten other suspects in the Beauty Avenue shooting were arrested previously.

Police characterize the shooting as one involving gang members. Under North Carolina law, if people conspire or work together to plan a homicide, they can all be charged, even if they don't physically commit the crime.
