Police said Douglas Jamal Mangum, 18, of
210 West Holly Springs Road
was pronounced dead at WakeMed in Raleigh.
When Holly Springs police were called to the home shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, officers found Mangum lying on the living room floor.
People inside the house told police they had heard gunshots while Mangum was outside for a short time. They said when he re-entered the home, he said he had been shot and collapsed.
According to police, a large, black sport utility vehicle was seen leaving the scene with two men inside. No arrests have yet been made. Investigators are still trying to determine a motive.
Mangum's death was the first homicide in Holly Springs since 1995.
