RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina's first Powerball lottery drawing did not make anyone an instant millionaire, but someone did win $200,000 by matching all five white balls.
The winning Powerball numbers were 10, 20, 22, 43, 49. The Powerball number was 3. The Powerplay number was 5.
It is the biggest jackpot since North Carolina began its lottery two months ago. Three others won $10,000 each by matching four out of five white balls and picking the Powerball number.
N.C. Lottery Director Tom Shaheen gave a breakdown for Wednesday's prizes. (These figures include an extra $1 Power Play feature that multiplies potential winnings).
Wednesday night's Powerball was worth almost $38 million. More than $1 million worth of tickets were sold in North Carolina.
