RALEIGH, N.C. — On Tuesday night, hundreds of people got a bird's eye view of the transformation of Fayetteville Street in Raleigh.

Preservation North Carolina hosted "A Taste of Things to Come" at the historic Briggs Hardware building. Visitors toured new condos in the Hudson building and were treated to dinner.

Fayetteville Street is scheduled to open to traffic at the end of July. A grand reopening for the public is tenatively planned. Details on the planned street party to celebrate the street's reopening are still being worked out.
