BENSON, N.C. — Benson's town attorney surrendered his law license after allegations surfaced that he misappropriated money from a client.
Donald Parker gave up his license Tuesday.
Parker served as the town of Benson's attorney for more than a decade.
He stepped down Monday night.
The allegation of fund misappropriation could bring criminal charges.
But at last report, Johnston County District Attorney Tom Lock had not been made aware of any criminal investigation.
