Lee County Deputy Arrested On Drug Charge

Posted Updated

LEE COUNTY, N.C. — A Lee County sheriff's deputy was arrested Wednesday by the State Bureau of Investigation.

Sgt. John Alan Fiore was charged with one count of attempting to obtain a controlled substance -- an amphetamine, said William McKinney of the North Carolina Attorney General's Office. Fiore was held on a $5,000 secured bond.

Fiore had his first court appearance Thursday morning and is now under house arrest, McKinney said.

The SBI case is an on-going investigation. The case has also been given to the Lee County District Attorney's Office, where it is still under investigation, McKinney said.
