Startling Billboard Goes Up To Combat Drunken Driving

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A jarring image of a body bag in a morgue is plastered on billboards across the state.

The Division of Alcohol Law Enforcement is using the picture to target teenage drivers who drink. Twelve billboards will be posted on North Carolina highways. Locally, they are posted in Fayetteville and Rocky Mount.

Four Raleigh teenagers died in a drunken driving crash in March. Statistics show drivers were drunk in 22 percent of deadly crashes involving young drivers.
