WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Preliminary autopsy results on a body found Sunday near the Neuse River show that the victim died of strangulation.
Two boaters traveling in the Neuse River near the Wake-Johnston county lines discovered the male body at about 1:40 p.m. on Sunday just off Mial Plantation Road.
Wake County authorities are still investigating and are treating the case as a homicide. Investigators still have not been able to identify the man.
