WILSON COUNTY — A former
Cary High School
student was killed in a single-vehicle crash along Highway 264 in Wilson County Tuesday.
The
state Highway Patrol
says that Tyson Whittington was travelling westbound around 12:30 p.m. when he lost control of his Honda SUV. The vehicle reportedly went into the median and overturned several times before stopping.
Whittington, who graduated last year and was a quarterback on Cary's football team, was the only person in car. He was reportedly returning from a visit to Greenville.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
