IBM Donates $200,000 in Equipment to NCSU, UNC for Tech Projects

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — IBM
is donating $200,000 in high-tech gear to North Carolina State and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill as part of its Shared University Research program.
UNC will use the equipment to create a virtual research lab to assist in campus research and also to create a regional test bed for experimental projects.
NCSU will utilize the IBM equipment as part of a K-12 education project being launched by the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation.
The grants were announced Wednesday as part of IBM's "University Day" at its RTP campus.
