Infant Injured In Raleigh Hit-And-Run In Critical Condition

RALEIGH — The infant injured in a hit-and-run accident Sunday is listed in critical condition Monday at WakeMed. Her father is listed in satisfactory condition, and her mother and a sister were treated and discharged. Two other people who were in the accident have not been identified, and their condition is unknown.

Jaquail Leak, who is 10 months old, her father, Michael Jones, her sister, Shaquan, her mother Angelique, along with the other two passengers, were turning onto Lord Anson Drive when a black Chevrolet Cavalier crossed the center line on Poole Road and hit them. Police say the Cavalier was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Police detained the passenger in the Cavalier, but he was not charged.

Alberto Tolentino, who police say caused the accident, is still at large, and warrants for felony hit-and-run have been issued.
