Proposed Merger Of Exploris, Playspace Museums To Be Studied

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The proposed merger of two Raleigh museums has cleared another hurdle. A study will now determine if moving Playspace to Exploris will work.

"We're having to move to a new location," said John Hodges of Playspace. "We have about run out of existing space, and we can no longer serve the residents of the city the way we need to."

A City Council Committee has agreed that Raleigh will pay half of the study expenses. The city will pay $35,000 of the cost, and Wake County commissioners have also agreed to share the cost.
