Six Injured In Multi-Car Accident On Highway 70

JOHNSTON COUNTY — Just before 3 p.m. Thursday, a westbound car on Highway 70 near the Wayne-Johnston County line crossed the median into the eastbound lane and caused a chain reaction involving two cars and a tractor-trailer. One car was crushed by the semi.

Six people were injured, according to the Highway Patrol. Two were flown by helicopter to UNC Hospitals. Four were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Their conditions have not been released.
