School Crossing Guard Hit By Car In Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A school crossing guard was hit by a car in Fayetteville Friday morning.

The incident happened at around 7:20 a.m. after a crossing guard stopped traffic in the southbound lanes of

Ramsey Street near Quincy Street

, police said.

According to police a person driving a Chevrolet Corsica southbound on Ramsey Street hit the crossing guard.

The crossing guard, Annette Austin, 34, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jaray Fairley, 19, was charged with failure to reduce speed and failure to obey a traffic control officer.
