Police Investigate Robbery at Durham Credit Union

Police say a man robbed a State Employees Credit Union in Durham at around 9 a.m. Monday.

DURHAM, N.C. — According to Durham police, a man robbed a State Employees Credit Union in Durham at around 9 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said the man entered the credit union, located at 4900 N.C. Highway 55 at Park West Crossing Shopping Center. 

Investigators said the man waited in line, allowing several people to go in front of him. When the man got to the teller’s window, he handed the teller a note demanding money, investigators said. 

Police said the man implied he had a weapon, but no weapon was seen. Investigators said he was last seen fleeing the bank on foot toward the 1900 block of N.C. Highway 54.

The man is described as a black male in his 40s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slim build and short hair. He was wearing a Michael Jordan ball cap and may have had a beard.
