<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Fayetteville police are investigating a traffic accident involving an officer.

The accident occurred at 7:24 a.m. Thursday on McPherson Church Road near Sycamore Dairy Road.

Authorities say Officer Marc McCormick was traveling on North McPherson Church Road when his patrol vehicle collided with a 2005 Chrysler being driven by 29-year-old Tondry Moore Youngblood.

McCormick and Youngblood were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
