Avoid the Back-To-School Supply Stampede

— Many North Carolina year-round students are already back in class. In less than two weeks, students on a traditional calendar schedule will start the new school year.

Before hitting the books, students need all the necessary supplies.

One of the things that makes the shopping trip easier is bringing along the shopping list provided by child's school.

Avoiding crowds at stores gets trickier the closer it gets to the first day of class.

Store managers say the best bet for the best stock is early mornings and on Sunday nights after 5 p.m.

However, they will make no guarantees for the night after the first day of school, which is almost always a madhouse.
