DURHAM, N.C. — Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong scored an endorsement in his fight to keep his job.
He took part in a public forum on Wednesday, along with challengers Freda Black and Keith Bishop. The Durham chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police is now backing Nifong.
Former assistant district attorney Freda Black won an endorsement of her own. According to her Web site, the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association supports her campaign.
