NBDL Unveils Team Name, Logo For Fayetteville Franchise

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville now knows what its new basketball team will be called.

The

National Basketball Development League

unveiled the team's name and logo Tuesday at the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum. The team will be called the Fayetteville Patriots and will wear red, navy blue and silver jerseys.

Team President Amy Perko says the Patriots are excited about making Fayetteville their home court.

"We're in it for the long-term. This is the development league of NBA. There are over 1,400 playing overseas every year, and this just helps to expand the grassroots of basketball," she says.

The team will hit the court in November. Tickets are already on sale. Coach Nate "Tiny" Archibald is in the process of picking players.
