Gaston EMS Facility Engulfed By Fire

GASTON, N.C. — An EMS building in Gaston caught fire Friday afternoon, causing extensive damage to the building.

According to officials, the blaze completely engulfed the building, burning three of Gaston's four ambulances. Two people inside the building when the fire started escaped without injury.

The city is now trying to determine how they will handle EMS calls until the facility and ambulances can be replaced. There is no word yet on what started the fire.
