Norfolk 3, Durham 1

— The Norfolk Tides scored a run in each of the last three innings tonight to beat the Durham Bulls three-to-one.

Bobby Smith drove in the Bulls' only run with a double in the fourth inning.

Ray Montgomery hit a home run and had two RBIs for the Tides.

Edgardo Alfonso, the New York Mets player placed on the disabled list June 14th, played second base for the entire game. He was hitless in four at bats.

Delvin James took the loss for Durham.
