Study: Cranberry Juice Helps Prevent Urinary Tract Infections

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Researchers in Finland say drinking cranberry juice might actually prevent women from getting urinary tract infections.

For years, some women have thought cranberry juice helps them ward off the infection.

Now, a recent study says women who once had the inflammation were half as likely to get a new case in six months if they drank a glass of cranberry juice a day.

But a Canadian expert says the study may be flawed because female participants knew which treatment they were getting.
