Vegetarians May Be Missing Key Vitamins

RALEIGH — Nutritionists say vegetarians must make sure they are getting the full amount of essential nutrients.

One study finds that many vegetarians miss out on vitamins D and B-12. Those vitamins are almost exclusively found in animal products.

Experts say vegetarians should take supplements to ensure they are getting the right amount of these essential nutrients.
