FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville judge made a ruling Tuesday in the dispute between two wives over the remains of one late husband.
John "Sarge" Burrell married Hazelene Burrell in 1954. She says she never signed divorce papers and didn't know he went on to marry two other women.
Before he died, Burrell reunited with Hazelene. Both she and his third wife, Valerie Burrell, sued for the right to bury him.
The judge ruled Tuesday that Valarie Burrell will be allowed to make burial arrangements.
