Autopsy Reveals More About Clinton Woman's Apparent Homicide

CLINTON, N.C. — An autopsy report reveals that a woman found dead in her home early Saturday had been stabbed multiple times with a sharp instrument.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, Sampson County authorities found the body of Sharlona Peterson, 23, inside a house on Rellie Lane.

The Sampson County Sheriff's Office had received a call at about 12:43 a.m. in references to shots fired. When deputies arrived at the scene 14 minutes later, they say a white four-door Buick Century leaving the residence.
