RALEIGH — The spotlight was on men at the BTI Center for the Performing Arts Saturday. The Men Empowerment program focused on real
solutions to the problems facing, mainly, the African American male.
Among the men sharing some advice with the audience was television's Judge Greg Mathis, who shared his own journey from gang member to judge to television personality with the audience.
"There's still hope for them to overcome if they'll utilize those successful principles in life that myself and others have utilized. And that's education, spirituality and fighting back against the obstacles and challenges of life," says Mathis.
