Durham City Council Approves $251 Million Budget

DURHAM — Members of the Durham City Council have voted in favor of a $251 million budget for next year.

The City Council voted seven to six to keep city employee salary increases at six percent.

Former Interim city manager Greg Bethea had proposed a seven percent increase.

The budget also adds 18 new firefighter recruits and six new police officers for the Southpoint area.
