Durham Police Search For Suspect In Overnight Murder

DURHAM — Durham police are searching for clues in the city's second murder in as many days.

Police say one person was shot to death early Tuesday morning at 103 1/2 South Hardee Street.

Officers found the victim, 18-year-old James Christopher Massenburg, lyingon the kitchen floor around 12:30 a.m. He had been shotseveral times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have a vague suspect description, but have not filed charges. They still have not determined the motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator M.E. Harris at560-4440, ext. 236, or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,200 for information leading to an arrest.

Meanwhile, Teresa Faith Tyndall, 40, faces murder charges for stabbing a woman in Durham early Monday morning.

Police found Mariana Stone, 41, dead inside a home at 4225 Neal Road.

Police say the women were roommates.

Tyndall is being held in the Durham County Jail without bond pending a district court hearing.
