ALE Agents Raid Two Raleigh Houses

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Home businesses are one thing, but not when the products being sold are illegal.

Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) agents confiscated liquor, drugs, Virginia Lottery tickets and cash from two southeast Raleigh houses in an overnight raid. Authorities say these items were being sold out of the houses. ALE agents watched the suspects for over a month before making their move.

"A lot of people consider this to be a problem just in southeast Raleigh, but this problem affects all of Raleigh," says an undercover ALE agent. "When you start selling alcohol to underage persons, (they could) get on the beltline, have a wreck, injure someone."

Agents arrested seven people. Five were taken into custody and charged with a number of offenses, including possession of marijuana and cocaine and selling alcohol without a license.
