CARRBORO, N.C. — Police say a person drove a car into the
Open Eye Cafe
on
South Greensboro Street
in Carrboro.
The accident happened at around 9 a.m. Friday. Employees at the cafe said a woman told them she accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake of her Volvo station wagon and drove into the building.
There were 15 to 20 customers inside the cafe at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
The business opened in that location 10 months ago. The cafe reopened around 3 p.m. after employees boarded up the damaged area.
