Construction Accident Sends Worker To Hospital

BAHAMA, N.C. — A contractor at a Durham County manufacturing plant was taken to a local hospital Tuesday for treatment after he fell a cement pit.

At about 3:40 p.m., emergency workers were dispatched to A.W. Manufacturing on Old Oxford Highway in Bahama, where the 30-year-old man fell into a 21 feet deep concrete pit while doing construction on-site, authorities said.

The victim was taken via helicopter to Duke University Hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.
