Kenly Man Rescued From Burning Home

KENLY — Volunteer firefighters rescued a Kenly man who had passed out in his smoke-filled home Tuesday morning.
Roy Godwin, 54, is listed in serious condition at UNC Hospitals. He was found near the front door of his Pope Avenue home about 2:15 a.m.
The house was in flames when members of the Kenly Volunteer Fire Department arrived and pulled Godwin out.
No word on what caused the fire.
