Kids Arrive In Full Force At U.S. Women's Open

Posted Updated

SOUTHERN PINES — Competition is in full swing after the first round of the 2001 U.S. Women's Open on Thursday.

The women teed off Thursday morning at Pine Needles Golf Course in Southern Pines in front of a full crowd, including kids. Many of them came to see 13-year-old Morgan Pressel, who finished the day at seven over par.

"It's nice to see someone your age who can inspire you. She inspires all the kids," says 13-year-old Caitlin Forest.

The event is free for children, and they even receive front row seats.
