FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — An assistant principal in Cumberland County charged with a sex crime could be looking for work soon.

Cumberland County school leaders recommend firing Elazzoa McArthur. The school board has to vote on it.

McArthur, who works at Pine Forest High School, was arrested in February and suspended without pay.

Detectives say McArthur had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl at the school.
