Fayetteville's Dogwood Festival In Full Bloom

FAYETTEVILLE — A sure sign of spring is dogwood blooms, and in Fayetteville, that iscause for celebration.

The 19th annual Dogwood Festival is under way, as 90 golfersprepare to tee off Friday afternoon for the L.B. Floyd Dogwood Children'sClassic.

The golfers have paid $88,000 to play, with the funds going to benefit the Friends of Children of Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation.

Some of the events planned for Friday include an Oldies street dance andDogwood Festival Duck Race.

This weekend's festivities include:

  • walking tours of historic Fayetteville
  • hula hoop contest
  • children's activities
  • street fair
  • 5th annual Cowboy Cove Rodeo
