Suspect Sought In Raleigh Assault

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are asking for your help finding an assault suspect.

Police said they responded to a report of an assault in a parking lot on Avent Ferry Road shortly before 9 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said the victim told them she was attacked by a man after she got out of her car. The victim told police she believed the man tried to force her back into the vehicle. The man fled on foot after the woman screamed.

At the time of the assault, the man was reported to be armed with some type of sharp object.

Raleigh police have released a composite of the suspect. He is described as being a black male in his 40s or 50s with a dark skin tone and short hair.

He stands about 6 feet tall, weighs about 180 pounds and was wearing a dark colored nylon jacket, a dark blue baseball cap with vertical slits in the front and baggy blue denim trousers.
