Police Investigate Early Morning Fire at Southeast Raleigh H.S.

RALEIGH — Fire crews were called out to a Raleigh high school early Monday.

Alarms went off just after 6 a.m. atSoutheast Raleigh HighSchool. The fire was contained to just one classroom.

Classes were delayed as crews worked to get smoke from the building andmake sure it was safe to enter.

"Here at Southeast we take as many steps as possible to ensure that wedo have a safe school campus," says Principal John Modest. "This happenedearly this morning, and so no one was on campus, thank God."

Students and staff waited at the football field while the schoolwas inspected.

No word on the amount of damage to the classroom.Raleigh police are investigating.
