DURHAM — The post office says hundreds of pieces of mail found dumped in the middle of the woods in Durham County will be delivered this week.

The letters and packages were found in several places in northern Durham County a few weeks ago.

Some of the mail appeared to date back nearly a year.

Postal officials say the Roxboro mailman, whose name has not been disclosed, resigned last week.

He may face federal charges, which carry punishment of fines and a prison sentence.
