UNC Chancellor Impressed by University

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL (AP) — Two weeks into his job, U-N-C-Chapel Hill chancellor James Moeser says he's surprised to find the university is better than he thought.

Moeser says the only thing that's holding the university back is poor facilities, and he says he's ready to strike out on behalf of the upcoming three (b) billion-dollar bond referendum.

In an interview with The News and Observer of Raleigh, Moeser predicts higher tuition for the school. He says he would like to build new relationships with his neighbors at North Carolina State and Duke, and he says he would like to boost ethnic diversity in the faculty and student body.
