WAKE FOREST — Some Wake Forest families got a visit from the friendly skies Saturday night. A small airplane made an emergency landing near several homes.
The experimental kit plane glided onto a soccer field at theSoutheastern Baptist Theological Seminaryaround 6:00 p.m.
The pilot made several passes before landing safely.
"I thought it was a remote control, because we did not hear any engine," says neighbor Karen Kostich. "We found out later that the pilot told everyone his engine blew."
Other than being a little shaken up, the pilot is fine. Neighbors helped carry the little plane to a safe place until it can be repaired.
