GARNER — A young boy drowned late Monday night in southern Wake County.
Sheriff's deputies say Justin Parham, 11, slipped into Swift Creek near Highway 50 outside Garner.
Officers say Justin and his 13-year-old cousin were fishing when he fell off the bank.
His cousin ran to a store and called police, but it was too late.
Rescue crews found the boy's body about an hour later.
