Inmate Escapes from Wake Correctional Facility

WAKE COUNTY — Officers are looking for a felon who escaped from the Wake Correctional Facility late Wednesday.

Officials say James Rhodes, 53, of Raleigh, was working outside the facility around 10 p.m.

Police say Rhodes is a habitual felon and was serving time on a 50-year prison sentence.

Rhodes is a white man, about 5' 9" tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has gray hair, blue eyes and tattoos on both arms.
